Topic: I want to diversify from MFs and portfolio management products to Exchange Traded Funds. Can you please let me know the following? 1.What are the active ETFs from BSE & NSE? > 2.Can I buy them just like any other stock, through my ICICI direct account? 3.Are there any other charges except STT & brokerage for buying these fund units? 4.Are there any management charges for ETFs? 5.Does ETFs have the same Capital Gains Tax rules, as for equity shares? Thanks & Regards

There are a lot of ETF's on NSE. You have the gold ETF's by various fund houses and the other BEES ETF's, which you can buyor sell just like stocks and pay the same charges as stocks. However, these ETF's will deduct their management charges from the NAV. The capital gains treatment for ETF's is akin to debt funds.
