| Message: I have the following insurance policies taken on the recommendation of an
agent. Recently I happened to read an article about Insurance matters in
Outlook Money Jan 15, 2007 issue. I am now confused as to whether i had
done the right thing in taking those policies as the premiums i have to
pay are high and for a long period. I want your advice as to whether the
policies are worth while and whether i should continue them or surrender
them or what should i do whcih will least affect me in terms of loss. The
policies I have are:
1. Aviva Life Insurance Policy commenced on 26.10.2004 with a premium
amount of 50000:00 payable annually.
2.HDFC Unit linked Pension plan commenced on07.07.2005 with a premium
amount of 50000:00 payable annually.
3.Kotak Flexi Plan - Unit linked endowment assurance Plan commenced
on23.09.2005 with an annual premium of 50000:00

| Message: I have a very belief that insurance & investment are two different aspects. They should never be mixed. All the insurance policies are crap except the pure term policies.
Don't get influenced by the insurance agent, as his commission is directly proportional to amount of your premium. The more premium you pay, the more he earns.
For investments, mutual funds are a very good options.
