Message: I made Long Term Capital Gains by selling plot of land. The total amount received is 16 Lac on 1-Oct-06. I already own one flat since Oct 2003. I had booked another flat for 22L with bank home saver loan of 19L in April 2005 and construction for the same started same month. Till now 15L is disbursed. Construction is expected to be complete around July 2007. I want to seek relief as per sec54F. Now tell me if I am eligible? If yes, then 1) shall I reduce the loan amount of 19L to 3L by pre-paying 16L? or 2)Keep 16L in the home saver account? or 3) Invest 16L in REC bonds or 4)continue using 16L as nothing happened as mentioned at " http://www.moneycontrol.com/mccode/news/article/news_article.php?autono=193466 " I'll be higly obliged on a prompt reply.
