Indian markets rallied about 15 per cent this fortnight on strong global cues, while the BSE Oil & Gas Index put on 20 per cent in trade. RIL and Aban Offshore of the index gained in excess of 23 per cent.

After the Budget announcement and weak global cues, markets moved down and the indices closed down 0.5 per cent. Since fiscal deficit was higher, concerns on bond yields spooked banking stocks. Bankex, the banking index, fell 4.2 per cent.
